Isobel Duncan is an organizer and artist. After graduating in 2020 with a B.A. in theatre studies from Ithaca College, they put the majority of their time into organizing in Chicago around environmental justice and intersecting issues. Isobel has primarily organized with the Sunrise Movement Chicago Hub, focusing on leading actions, art, education, and community building. Through funding from the Illinois Environmental Council, they have organized around the Clean Energy Jobs Act, Build Back Better Act and other local issues. They have partnered with many other organizations such as Defund CPD, Illinois Green New Deal Network, & Grassroots Collaborative. As an artist, their work examines capitalism's impact on identity and community. They wrote a one minute play about gender identity featured at the Neo-Futurists and a one person show How to Google Your Way to be a Perfect Citizen for Climate Change, which was digitally produced by Un-American BlackBox. They have directed several college and self-produced productions, including a devised piece around climate action. They helped create the performance art piece, Port of Entry, a devised immersive production at Albany Park Theater Project and Third Rail Projects.
